glad the club can acknowledge this, seeing as the department is one of the only local ones who hasn't.

Another day, another retiree!

Detective Darren Hearitt was hired on January 15, 2004 as a Police Officer. Darren had previously been a Police Officer with the SUNY at Buffalo Police Department!

He was promoted to Detective on December 1, 2011 where he was assigned to the Family Offense Unit for several years. He excelled in his work against Domestic and Elder Abuse. Darren’s hard work and dedication was second to none! In July of 2017, Detective Hearitt was assigned a missing persons case. A 79 year old Town resident wandered off and was missing. Detective Hearitt’s grit and perseverance led him to finding the man in a wooded area off a local bike path. The man was taken to the hospital, treated, and returned home safe because of Detective Hearitt’s concern and dedication to people in our community!

In 2024, Darren was elected as our Union Vice President. He served in this position until his retirement on Wednesday!

Thank you Darren for your hard work and dedication to our Union, our membership and the citizens of the Town of Tonawanda that we proudly serve! We wish you and your family a long and happy retirement!

Darren-it was a pleasure to work with you on the re-imagination plan and I appreciate your efforts to try to help recruit the next generation of officers.
