I am suggesting that we "Adopt a Cop" to help pay their fines.

Start writing tickets for the Town manager and his friends and family. This is a great way to fill your quota and prevent an unlawful fine the Town has put on you.

When is the next board meeting that this will be discussed?

Support from Amherst

The Town of Tonawanda Republican Committee will be meeting on Wednesday April 16th, 6:30 pm, at the Howling Rooster 529 Englewood Avenue. Due to recent actions taken by the Town Council and Supervisor against Town of Tonawanda Police Club and Town Police Officers, we have received immense interest in removing current Town Councilmembers from office this November. We welcome any concerned resident, regardless of political affiliation to join us tomorrow, to begin to elect candidates to our Town Council that support our police, will restore vacant police positions and keep our Town safe! Where do we get the signs for our lawn. Need two of them

The public needs to be aware that these letters received by officers outlining the number of fines is exceeding "couple hundred" dollars. Majority of these fines are equating to $500+ even up to $1,000+ dollars for multiple officers. Totaling the number of fines for the 47 officers to be in the tens of thousands going right into the pockets of the town. Not to mention the $500 cost of taxpayers' dollars spent to certify mail these letters to each officer. Taking these funds directly out of the family's mouths of the individuals that risk their lives every day to serve and protect this community is beyond disgraceful, disgusting and distributing. The town board should be utterly ashamed of themselves.

So there is a quota

This is really upsetting. They have no idea what goes into your job or how stressful it is on a daily basis. I saw it for the six years I was married. When you answer a call, you have no idea how it will go. You take the trauma home with you. It affects your mental health and your family. I’m so sorry this is happening at the department.

So the requirement quota is one ticket per hour per officer on duty? So basically if they can’t find anyone to ticket every hour they work they are on strike? That is ridiculous because the Town says they don’t have quotas. 🤔

There is so much more we can do to improve the situation with Town Council that unanimously voted for this. Remember, it wasn’t just Joe Emminger. It was all the town board members even the ones that are running to be reelected in November. VOTE THE SITTING MEMBERS OUT!!

How did they determine it was one hour per day? Arbitrary and capricious.

Communism at its finest.

This is a disgrace

What a bunch of garbage. Wake TF up Town residents. Get these people out of YOUR GOVERNMENT. They are ruining the Town of Tonawanda.

Am I reading this wrong? If the officers chose to object to their fine, they can write their objection and submit to Joe E? The same guy who is fining them? Where is the checks and balances on that? He’s fining them and already has determined they are guilty, why would he reverse it? He would look wrong…What a joke.

Don't you have a right to an attorney? Shouldn't you also have the right to have this said violation proven in a court of law? Pun intended. Not sure how they have a right to charge and take punitive damages. I am so disturbed by the actions of the Mayor and Town board! It's obvious they are not even listening to the tax payers.

how can they prove this? are there quotas? we are behind blue!

Does the Town of Tonawanda have a ticket quota because this letter seems to go against section 215 of New York Labor Law.

What a joke! Tonawanda PD deserves better than this BS!

The Town of Tonawanda Police Club did so much for me when I was hurt, I could never repay them. I would like to raise funds to pay the officers “fines”… but I am worried about “That means they are admitting guilt”. Does anyone have better or legal advice ??? And by the way, it really is funny how their own chief doesn’t recognize what the department does other than writing tickets…

A great place to live, work and play!? This hasn't aged well. A great place to issue and receive tickets? Maybe next print order 🤔

Ridiculous and insulting to all that serve and protect us 24/7!

That's disgusting and so wrong 😠 😡

i'd get a lawyer, if you can afford it. they are hoping that all of that legal wording intimidates you. find out if they really have a legal case. sounds like an attempt at legal bullying to me. at least with a lawyer you'd know where you stand

what a complete failure of leadership this is

We live in a time where no one wants to do this job anymore. The T/Tonawanda isn’t making it any easier on themselves. What imbeciles.

Hope the town has a good insurance policy! The backfire on this is going to be monumental!

When the leadership stops having the back of police officers there is always a problem. Someone needs to clean house and fast. Vote them out, petition for removal, something. When the officers aren't supported we all will have a town that is less safe to live in.

Emminger's Political Persecution of Our Police Officers Continues...

Over 50% of TTPD Police Officers Hit With Fines Over the Town's False Allegations of a Strike

"This week, after performing their essential duties providing public safety for every resident in the Town of Tonawanda, over half of our police officers will return from their shifts and find a letter waiting for them at home written by Supervisor Joe Emminger, indicating that they will be slapped with hundreds of dollars in fines for alleging participating in a strike, which has already proven to be false.

Even in his letter to me, Emminger lies about my record during the period in which he accused of us of striking. In fact on February 1st, I effectuated a DWI arrest and ticketed those involved but am still somehow being charged for that day.

Emminger and Stuffiger selected this three week period knowing that we received 40% more calls to respond to, as well as the fact that we were pulled from patrol to participate in a mandatory 16 hour range training, and the fact it was snowing every day.

As the public has now seen at the Town Board meetings, the Town is on a witch hunt to persecute its own police force, paid for by you the taxpayers.

If there is any doubt that this doesn't wreak of rampant corruption, just ask Emminger how much his campaign for Supervisor has received in contributions by the very same law firm he retained in a no bid deal, to investigate us and go after us.

Here's what you, our fellow citizens can do to #BacktheBlue:

1) Go to www.stauffigerhastogo.com/ and join our fight to remove Jim Stauffiger as Police Chief. You can sign our petition or send an email to elected officials, including the Governor's Office.

2) You can send a letter to the editor of the Buffalo News expressing your outrage of how YOUR tax dollars are being wasted on the persecution of the police. Please see link here: buffalonews.com/forms/contact/letter_to_the_editor/

3) Attend next month's Town Board Meeting on May 5th at 7pm to confront Emminger in person and demand he withdraw these fines.

4) Post a lawn sign supporting the police on your lawn

5) Light your porches with blue lights to show your support.

Rest assured, the TTPC has just begun to fight back, and with your support, we will prevail!"

How do I get a lawn sign?

How do I get a lawn sign ?

I need a lawn sign already got blue lights and signed your petition

Where do I get a sign?

Please show your support for the Town of Tonawanda Police Department. I have watched the events as they have unfolded and am gravely concerned as to the steps/overreach our Town Board has taken. Are they independent thinkers or under the Supervisors spell too. I pondered if the Chief(s) of police are truly in charge of the Police Department protecting its citizens or is it the Supervisor pulling their strings as well. This pointing fingers and looking at revenue from ticket writing and calling it a strike? Is it possible that the town’s frivolous spending has gotten out of control and that appears to be the crux of his vengence. The only winners here are the lawyers! His complaints should never have been made public and should have been handled within. If the Chief had to go to the Supervisor for backing of discipline then that does not say much for leadership of either. The Police Department should be allowed to operate independently with minimal overreach from our Supervisor. I think we know the answers. We can no longer stand idle and must come to the best resolution for the town that we live in. We are being lead down a very dangerous path with no return. Our town has lost its most seasoned officers, this exodus has been ongoing for a while due to the toxicity within. These officers would have otherwise been protecting this town, who knew the town best and would have been, and were mentors and training the next officers in line to protect us, the citizens. We will be left here in the town if not already with few if any officers with more than 5 years on the job and rookies who if we are lucky would want to be hired to work as a police officer, no disrespect intended but it is the truth every police officer at one time or another has been one. It is a term of endearment. You don’t magically come out of the academy knowing every situation and what charges to charge. These brave men and woman who themselves were still being mentored will be the next in line subjected to the scrutiny of the Supervisor, Town Board and Police Chief. They will no longer have the mentors or years of knowledge that it takes to become the knowledgeable supervisors of our police department. There will be no one to stand up for them within their workplace. The officers will be more susceptible to life threatening dangers when answering calls, making the correct decisions on calls, which will cause the victims less likely to take actions against the assailant(s). Think about it! Is that what we need to keep our town safe, to keep our property and children safe?

Cecely is correct, the lowest are $200-$300 but most are substantially more, some officers are being fined for days they have written tickets. This is an ego filled witch hunt. 🤡🤡

I’m curious as to how much the fine was for? Emminger has stated it’s not about lost revenue, it was only about $10,000 in lost revenue. But if roughy 50 officers are getting fined at a $200-$300 per fine. Well 50x$200 equals $10,000. Seems like a coincidence that the fines would equal the ‘none’ lost revenue.

Top clowns are running the show and ruining the image of our town. 🤡🤡

As a life long town resident & town business owner I will continue to support the TTPD. I have signs posted in my business windows supporting our police. The Chief needs to go! We need a change in leadership in this town!

Here’s the correct link to sign up www.stauffigerhastogo.com/

I'll gladly place a sign on my lawn and will try to make the next meeting.

Back the blue. Fight hard TTPC 💙💙💙

I have a sign on my lawn and my blue light.

Doing what I can I messaged already about wanting a sign let me know when you have more!

I messaged for two signs. Whenever available let me know

When will the lawn signs be available ? It would be nice to see a whole lot of them backing our town police !

Order these on Amazon and Back the Blue as you drive around Town. I just ordered a 10 pack. I only have 1 vehicle but will share with friends and neighbors

Can we start a go fund me account to pay the unjust fines that were leveled against our hard working police officers

I would love a sign but I live in an apartment

As a Tonawanda resident and backer of our police force I would hope they will make sure this supervisor , board members, and Chief obey every law there is. If they see them traveling 31 in a 30 issue them a ticket! If they are weaving at all give them a sobriety test! Make sure they signal the proper distance! Make sure they are within 100% of the law! They want tickets, give it to them!

They all have to go…🤬

They are being bullies period, the whole town is against them, there’s a ticket quota , who they shitting

“Yeah, I think a lot of our issues stem down to communication and I don’t think we see a lot of communication come down from the administrative level down to us. So, you know then I hear during his speech that I’m the one who needs to be changed in leadership, which I have 84 members behind me that would disagree but once again it all comes down to conversation and compromise, and their side really isn’t willing to compromise right now.”

Thompsons says that he was not satisfied with how the situation with now former police officer Bikramjit Singh went down. Further calling it a witch hunt.

“We’re sworn to protect. We’re expected to have integrity, and Officer Singh has integrity when Officer Singh says, that’s garbage, that’s garbage, and you have to trust officer Singh.”

That Captain really did that to his guys? Im sure production and morale went way up. Some leader. Of all guys to throw stones. Hope his glass house is getting reinforced. He questions Thompsons leadership while making THAT speech. Ladies and gentlemen.....TTPD Captain Krier! Also internal affairs guy. How did these guys ever get in charge? I bet they wrote a lot of tickets and generated a ton of money for the Town. Exactly why quotas are and should always be illegal.

Back the blue. 💙💙💙

Once again - get rid of the whole outfit . Our police officers and town residents deserve better . Start with a clean slate

Back the Blue

I recently went though the citizens police academy. I learned so much from these classes. I must say, it was an eye opening experience to see what these men and women go through on a daily basis. I can surely say that these men and women are true to their community. Thank you for your service officers. Back the blue! 💙💙

Because it was garbage stop being a bully!

TOT has toxic bully leaders! 💙 backing our Police!!
